A tighter forecast, with the midpoint unchanged

Con Edison expects adjusted earnings of $6.05 to $6.15 per share for 2026, narrowing its previous $6.00 to $6.20 range. Both ranges have a $6.10 midpoint; this is not an increase in that central estimate.

The outlook uses a non-GAAP adjusted measure. The company says it cannot give an equivalent full-year GAAP forecast because some excluded items will not be determinable until year-end.

Quarterly profit increases

For the three months ended September 30, net income was $766 million, or $2.07 per share, compared with $688 million, or $1.91 per share, a year earlier. Adjusted quarterly earnings were also $766 million in 2026, compared with $686 million in 2025.

The first-nine-month figures are separate: reported net income reached $1.998 billion, while adjusted earnings were $1.864 billion. The company’s release reconciles those measures, including the effect of its Mountain Valley Pipeline interest sale.

What customers can take from the investment update

Con Edison said it plans roughly $797 million of climate-resilience investment from 2026 through 2030. It also reported an agreement with its regulator and other stakeholders on a steam-business investment plan that was awaiting approval.

Those statements describe planned infrastructure work and a pending regulatory decision. The earnings announcement does not establish a newly approved customer tariff or a new bill amount. Its utility businesses serve New York City, Westchester and parts of southeastern New York and northern New Jersey.
