A new season is confirmed
Glee is returning with an all-new season for Disney+ and Hulu, Disney announced on 21 October 2026, according to ABC News. 20th Television, the studio behind the original series, is producing the reboot.
The show’s verified GLEE account separately confirmed its return in an announcement image posted on 21 October. The post did not provide a premiere date or casting details.
The release date and cast are still unannounced
ABC News says neither an official release date nor the cast has been shared. The announcement confirms the project rather than a scheduled drop of new episodes. Names from the original ensemble should not be treated as confirmed returnees.
Ryan Murphy told ABC News last month that a script had been written and that he had been in touch with cast members about returning. Those earlier conversations are not a casting announcement.
The original series ran for six seasons on Fox, from 2009 to 2015. The new announcement identifies Disney+ and Hulu as its US streaming destinations, with a premiere date still to come.
