A character gift on the anniversary

The Coalition says every Gears of War: E-Day player can claim the RAAM multiplayer character by logging in on November 7, the series’ 20th anniversary. The announcement was published on November 6; the gift is described as arriving the following day, not as already available on the announcement date.

The post does not specify an exact unlock hour or a claim deadline. It describes a character gift for players, rather than a free copy of the game.

What the anniversary event changes

The two-week anniversary event began this week, according to the developer. Its limited Versus mode is Guardian. In Horde Siege, the For the Queen variant disables supply caches, so squads must rely on their loadouts.

The announcement does not give precise start and end dates for the two-week event. Players can check the game for the current mode selection without treating an inferred calendar date as a confirmed deadline.

Legacy begins on December 1

Season 2, called Legacy, begins on December 1, 2026. The Coalition says it brings returning maps, modes and multiplayer skins, and previews a Solemn Memories Dom skin featuring Dom in a suit. It does not specify an exact season launch time.

The official store information included with the announcement says online campaign co-op, Horde Siege and Versus require a Game Pass subscription that includes online multiplayer, sold separately. The RAAM gift does not remove those access requirements.
