Genie 4 preview: who can use it and what comes next

Google DeepMind announced Genie 4 on October 27, 2026. Its research preview is rolling out to trusted testers.

Access for Google AI Ultra subscribers through Project Genie, and early partners through the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, is coming soon. DeepMind links a Project Genie waitlist, but gives no launch date. Joining it does not mean immediate access.

What the preview promises

DeepMind describes interactive worlds that users can steer with text prompts, with sound and dialogue generated alongside the scene.

The model remains experimental. DeepMind warns that visual details and objects can drift during longer sessions or complex edits. Treat the preview as an experiment when assessing whether it fits your work.
