Where you can use Terra
OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra on October 26, 2026. The company positions it for writing, interpreting images and working with software through computer use.
The official access note lists Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu for ChatGPT Work and Codex. In the desktop app or Work on the web, look in the model list under Advanced. Work also supports Terra on mobile. It is not available in Chat.
Enterprise availability depends on workspace settings and administrator controls. Browser and computer use also have their own setup and access requirements; choosing the model alone does not complete that setup.
The API has a separate route and bill
Developers can select gpt-6.1-terra. Tool calling requires the Responses API. The model accepts text and image input and produces text output.
For Standard API requests with at most 272,000 input tokens, listed text rates are US$1 per million input tokens and US$5 per million output tokens. Above that input threshold, input and cache rates double and output costs rise by 50% for the whole request. Tool calls and other processing options can add charges. These are API rates, not a Work subscription price.
