An analog watch with a window that changes jobs

Casio announced the GMC-2500 and GAC-2500 on October 22, 2026. The new G-Shock models pair analog hands with Multi-Mission Date, a three-cell window at the 3 o'clock position.

What the window displays depends on the selected function: it can show the date, elapsed stopwatch minutes or setting information. It is not simply a conventional date window.

Set the date before relying on the calendar

Casio says entering the year, month and day enables the automatic calendar. It then adjusts dates across month endings and leap years, removing those routine manual corrections. The US specifications list the full auto-calendar through 2099.

The small seconds hand at 9 o'clock can be stopped and restarted. Casio describes this sleep function as a way to reduce power consumption; its announcement does not quantify the extra battery life.

Check the exact model in the US lineup

The GMC-2500 uses a metal-clad bezel and a brass dial, while the GAC-2500 has a resin dial. Casio's US series page also lists shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, an LED light and a 1-second stopwatch.

Match the full model code in the US lineup when comparing versions. The GMC and GAC names identify different constructions within the same 2500 family.
