Release date and platform

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is scheduled for November 5, 2026, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo describes this version as rebuilt from the ground up. Its US listing identifies it as a single-player game with TV, tabletop and handheld play.

What changes in the remake?

Nintendo’s October 14 overview highlights redesigned visuals, fully voiced cutscenes with expanded dialogue, and symphonic orchestral music. It also describes an area where players can learn more about defeated monsters and challenge them again.

The current game page adds jump and dash actions, modern camera movement, and a choice of button or motion aiming for tools such as the bow and Hookshot. The aiming option can be changed in the Options menu.

Play the ocarina with buttons or your microphone

The remake keeps traditional button controls for Link’s ocarinas. As an alternative, Nintendo says you can hum a melody Link has learned, or play it on an instrument, into the Switch 2 microphone and have the in-game ocarina respond.

Nintendo also supports existing Legend of Zelda amiibo for in-game extras. The new Young Link and Young Zelda figures are listed for 2027, separately from the game’s November launch.

The US digital wallpaper bonus closes later in November

Nintendo’s US listing offers a 40th-anniversary digital wallpaper for purchases of the digital game before November 23, 2026, at 11:59pm Pacific. The wallpaper comes in several screen formats.

The listing says a My Nintendo download link will be emailed to the address on the Nintendo Account after the promotion period ends. Check those terms on the linked US product page when choosing an edition.
