Adelaide wins at home
Adelaide 36ers defeated Illawarra Hawks 106-78 at Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday, November 7. The official NBL Game Centre lists the Round 8 game as final.
Zylan Cheatham recorded a triple-double, with 21 points and 11 assists. Nick Rakocevic added 20 points and 16 rebounds, giving Adelaide another substantial contribution close to the basket.
The middle quarters open the gap
The 36ers led only 22-21 after the first quarter. They outscored Illawarra 27-16 in the second to reach halftime ahead 49-37.
Adelaide then won the third quarter 36-23, extending the advantage to 85-60. A 21-18 final quarter completed the 28-point victory. The decisive separation therefore came across the second and third periods, rather than an early runaway.
