What changes for content providers
AWS WAF AI traffic monetization now supports Stripe as a payout method, AWS announced on November 5. Publishers, content owners and API providers can collect stablecoin payments from AI bots and agents, with proceeds settling in local currency to their Stripe balance.
The new option sits alongside existing stablecoin payouts. AWS says it lets providers receive payouts without holding stablecoins or managing a crypto wallet.
Connect an account and keep existing policies
To use the option, connect your Stripe account through Stripe Connect in the AWS WAF console. AWS says existing prices and agent policies continue unchanged.
When an agent requests protected content, WAF returns an HTTP 402 response identifying accepted payment credential types. The agent can repeat its request with a valid credential to receive the content. Revenue appears in the WAF console analytics.
Availability and costs
AWS says the integration is available to WAF customers using Amazon CloudFront at all edge locations where WAF web ACLs are associated with CloudFront distributions. There is no additional charge for the integration, but standard WAF and Stripe processing fees apply.
The announcement does not list supported Stripe account countries, currencies or settlement times. Check the service terms and account eligibility before relying on the payout option.
