Who will drive at Homestead?
Spire Motorsports has suspended Carson Hocevar for the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Justin Haley will replace him in the No. 77 Chevrolet, according to NASCAR's official report on November 3.
The team's announced decision covers this weekend's championship race. It follows Hocevar's on-track incident with Austin Cindric at Martinsville on November 1.
The team decision and NASCAR penalty
NASCAR's updated report also says Hocevar was fined $100,000 and docked 25 driver points for his on-track conduct. That league discipline is separate from Spire's choice to put Haley in the car.
When is the finale?
The official weekend schedule lists the Cup Series Championship Race for Sunday, November 8, at 3pm ET. The Truck Series finale is on Friday and the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series finale is on Saturday; the Hocevar replacement concerns Sunday's Cup race.
