Two first-time Platinum Glove winners

Pete Crow-Armstrong and Cody Bellinger have won the 2026 Platinum Glove Awards, MLB reported after Rawlings announced the results on Friday night, November 6. Cubs center fielder Crow-Armstrong takes the National League award; Yankees outfielder Bellinger wins in the American League.

Both are first-time Platinum Glove winners. This award recognizes the best defensive player in each league regardless of position, making it distinct from the individual Gold Glove awards they had already received.

The defensive numbers behind the results

MLB credits Crow-Armstrong with a Major League-leading 26 Outs Above Average and 16 Defensive Runs Saved this season. He had also won his second consecutive Gold Glove.

Bellinger recorded 21 Defensive Runs Saved, tied for third in the Majors. His Gold Glove this season was the second of his career and his first since 2019; the newly announced Platinum award is a separate first.

Cubs and Blue Jays win the team awards

The Cubs receive the National League team Gold Glove, while the Blue Jays win in the American League. Both clubs now have three team awards since Rawlings introduced the category in 2020. Chicago wins for a second straight season.

The team awards recognize collective defense. They do not make every player on those clubs an individual Gold Glove or Platinum Glove winner. The linked MLB report provides the separate player and team results.
