Golden State wins a seventh straight game

Stephen Curry scored 41 points as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Orlando Magic 126-119 in overtime at Chase Center on Saturday, November 7. The result extended Golden State’s winning streak to seven games after an 0-3 start.

Orlando’s official game report lists Curry at 13-for-19 from the field and 5-for-10 from three-point range. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg added 23 points for the Warriors, while Brandin Podziemski scored 15.

Curry reaches another scoring milestone

The Warriors say it was Curry’s 16th game with at least 40 points since his 35th birthday, breaking his tie with LeBron James for the NBA record in that age group. The milestone concerns games played after turning 35, rather than his career total of 40-point performances.

Curry supplied 19 of his 41 points across the fourth quarter and overtime. Orlando’s report credits him with 12 points in the final two and a half minutes of regulation.

How Orlando forced the extra period

Jamal Cain’s putback with two seconds remaining tied the game and forced overtime. Golden State then outscored Orlando 16-9 in the extra period, according to the Warriors’ recap.

Franz Wagner led the Magic with 30 points, six rebounds and 11 assists. Orlando collected 24 offensive rebounds and scored 33 second-chance points, but Curry’s late scoring helped Golden State overcome that advantage. The two teams’ official reports linked below provide the game details.
