The allowance announced today

Google says users with a Google account or Google Workspace subscription can now generate up to three 15-second videos each month in Google Vids at no cost. The company announced the change on November 5, alongside the tool's move to Omni 1.2 Flash.

The stated free allowance is capped at three clips per month. The announcement does not describe unlimited generation.

Longer clips, image references and speech

Google presents the update as a way to create short promotional or social clips in one continuous take. Users can supply reference images, which the company says help keep characters and scenes consistent through a clip.

The company also reports improved speech narration. These are the announced capabilities; Briefpixel has not independently tested output quality.

How to check your access

Google directs readers to vids.new to open Vids. Check the generation options and allowance shown for your own account before planning a project around the new feature.

The announcement does not list a country-by-country rollout, an exact monthly reset time or how a managed organization's account settings affect access. Those details remain unconfirmed here.
