Australia finish the job in Sydney
Australia beat Samoa 44-12 in the men’s Rugby League World Cup semi-final at Allianz Stadium on 8 November. Reece Walsh scored three tries as the Kangaroos secured a final against New Zealand in Brisbane next Sunday, 15 November.
NRL’s official match report gives the crowd as 41,259. The match centre reached full-time at 44-12 after Australia had built a 26-2 half-time advantage. That is the completed result, rather than an earlier live score.
Samoa’s early lead does not last
Stephen Crichton opened the scoring with a fifth-minute penalty for Samoa. Tom Dearden answered with Australia’s first try, and Jacob Preston and Tom Trbojevic also crossed before Walsh and Bradman Best helped stretch the lead before the break.
Crichton scored soon after half-time, but Walsh responded with his second try. Izack Tago later crossed for Samoa before Walsh completed his hat-trick and Jack Bostock added Australia’s final try. Cameron Munster’s conversion made it 44-12.
A men’s final against the Kiwis
The result completes the men’s final pairing: Australia against New Zealand. It is a separate competition and match from the Jillaroos’ 30-14 women’s semi-final win over Fiji earlier on Sunday.
The official report places next Sunday’s decider in Brisbane. This result report does not provide a newly verified kick-off time, ticket availability or country-specific broadcast package; those details should be checked in the organiser’s final listing.
