Alexander sends Montreal back to the final
The Montreal Alouettes defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 33-23 in the CFL Eastern Final on November 7 at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. The result puts Montreal in the Grey Cup for the second consecutive season and the third time in four years.
Davis Alexander completed 23 of 35 passes for 373 yards and two touchdowns. Tyson Philpot caught nine passes for 129 yards, while Charleston Rambo added 117 receiving yards.
Beverette halts the late Winnipeg push
Winnipeg reduced Montreal’s lead to 26-23 in the fourth quarter. Tyrice Beverette then stripped Zach Collaros and recovered the fumble himself, ending a drive that had taken the Blue Bombers into field-goal range.
Montreal used the following possession to run down the clock before Alexander found Tyler Snead for a 21-yard touchdown with 1:11 remaining. Winnipeg’s season ends with the defeat.
Calgary on November 15
The Alouettes advance to the 113th Grey Cup at McMahon Stadium in Calgary on Sunday, November 15. Their opponent comes from the Western Final between the BC Lions and Edmonton Elks.
This is qualification for the championship game, not a Grey Cup title. The league’s current schedule is the place to check the final matchup and viewing arrangements.
