From 14-0 down to a 38-14 lead

Oregon defeated Ohio State 41-28 at Ohio Stadium on November 7, scoring 38 unanswered points after falling behind by two touchdowns in the opening quarter.

A field goal started the comeback. Dierre Hill Jr. then ran in from nine yards, and Jamari Johnson’s two-yard touchdown on the final play before halftime gave Oregon a 17-14 lead. Hill added a 48-yard scoring run early in the third quarter.

Raiola and Hill lead the response

Hill finished with 75 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Dylan Raiola passed for 257 yards and two scores, finding Dakorien Moore in the third quarter and Brandon Smith early in the fourth. The Smith touchdown completed Oregon’s 38-point run.

A fake punt helped set up Hill’s first touchdown: Teitum Tuioti threw a 30-yard pass to Matayo Uiagalelei. Ohio State did not score again until the fourth quarter, after Oregon had established its 38-14 advantage.

A result, not a playoff decision

The win keeps Oregon in the College Football Playoff discussion described by the team’s report. It does not itself confirm a playoff berth or establish Ohio State’s elimination.
