A different contest from the 12-player race
SEGA’s November 3, 2026 briefing schedules Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two for later that day, without an exact launch hour. Its new Duel Mode replaces the standard 12-player contest with a one-on-one race.
The developers say distance from the opposing racer and the timing of item use matter differently in this format. It gives players a focused alternative to managing a full field of rivals.
What the Super Slot changes
Year Two also adds gadgets and a Super Slot reserved for a one-slot gadget. Placing a gadget there strengthens its effects, according to the development team.
When rebuilding a setup, consider which compatible gadget benefits most from that enhanced slot. The announcement does not provide a complete gadget balance table or numeric bonuses.
The console-themed pack has an edition condition
The separate Sega Consoles Pack contains three vehicles inspired by Dreamcast, Genesis and Sega Saturn. SEGA describes it as a bonus exclusive to the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition and Season Pass Two; the notice does not say every existing owner receives that pack.
SEGA also lists US PlayStation Store prices of $39.99 for Standard and $59.99 for both the Digital Deluxe and Year Two Digital Deluxe editions after permanent price reductions. Those are US prices from the announcement. Compare the edition contents in your own listing before purchasing.
