The public release and the device requirement
webAI released its Mac app publicly on November 5. The company says its small reasoning models run on the user’s computer, without per-token charges. Its download page requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS Tahoe 26 or later.
That requirement excludes Intel Macs from the stated supported hardware. The announcement does not establish Windows availability.
Personas and connected tools
Users can create Personas with a chosen role, knowledge and tools, then have several work on the same task. The launch announcement names connectors for Slack, DocuSign, Hugging Face and Apple apps. Users choose each Persona’s access and permitted actions.
webAI says files and prompts are processed locally. That describes the company’s model-processing claim; it should not be read as a guarantee that connected online services or deliberately shared information never communicate over a network. Briefpixel has not independently audited the app’s privacy or tested its output.
Check compatibility before downloading
Start with the official download page and confirm your Mac’s processor and operating-system version. Review the permissions for any service you connect.
No per-token charge is a specific billing claim, not a promise that every service, connector or future plan is free. The launch announcement does not provide a complete price schedule or minimum RAM requirement.
