The cutoff is Friday at 4pm ET
Laurentian Bank personal customers whose products are moving to National Bank face a service transition over November 6 to 8, 2026. National Bank lists a 4pm Eastern cutoff on Friday, November 6, equivalent to 21:00 UTC.
From that cutoff, Laurentian debit cards, branches, cash machines and online and telephone banking will become inaccessible. Interac e-Transfers will be unavailable until Monday, November 9. Migrating customers should also expect National Bank online access to be unavailable during the weekend.
Debit and credit cards have different rules
Laurentian credit cards are scheduled to keep working during and after the move. That does not apply to Laurentian debit cards. National Bank says banking and debit services will return gradually on November 9; its guide gives no single restoration hour.
Review payments again after the move
The bank says unaccepted e-Transfers and scheduled bill payments or transfers between your accounts will be cancelled during migration. Up to 20 bill payees will move automatically.
After setting up National Bank online access, check balances, recent transactions and payees. Restore scheduled transactions and Autodeposit if you use them, add missing payees, and resend transfers cancelled in the move. Follow the official instructions for activating your new debit card with the PIN sent by mail.
Check your migration documents now
Use National Bank's personal migration hub and the letters sent for your own products to prepare before Friday. Contact Laurentian Bank if those documents have not arrived. This guide covers personal banking; business and investment products have separate instructions.
The corporate transaction is separate from the service-change weekend. In its November 2 announcement, Laurentian said National Bank acquired its retail and small-business portfolios, while Fairstone acquired the Laurentian bank itself.
